Beth Hart, a Los Angeles native who is a blues-styled vocalist and street performer who was formerly. In 1995 she debuted with Immortal. Her outspoken nature and gifted musicianship attracted attention, as well as her live shows that were emotional and her voice that was compared to Janis Joplin. Chuck Taylor, Billboard's October 2nd, 1999 issue wrote that Hart is "the the epitomize of a natural woman" and was "bawdy and funny, and chatty with her choice in spiced languages, free-wheeling and free-wheeling." However, none of that is comparable to her presence on stage. The tall, lanky singer/songwriter strides and squalls out songs alongside Mick Jagger . At other times, she'll take a place at the piano or centerstage and her legs are crossed over the chairs and her voice is so delicate and painful, it's hard to tell whether she's crying or if you'll. Hart was a teen who participated in amateur competitions and also experienced the same reactions. However, she was still a bit wary and had reservations about the music industry at the time she began the professional path. Hart quit her band after it was unsuccessful touring across the globe. Hart then spent nearly four years searching for answers and working out problems through music writing. After that, determined to give her professional career a chance to shine, she returned in 1999 with the critically acclaimed Screamin' for My Supper, an album that was a culmination of Hart's songwriting abilities with honest, vulnerable songs about facing life's issues.
